OrthoVet™ Foam
Sleep Hygienics has developed a specialized OrthoVet™ foam insert for the skeletal support needed by animals - a "super soft" bed may seem appealing to us but not be what is best for your pet's health. Some "memory foam" inserts that are prevalent today have a "sinking feeling" that many pets do not feel at ease with. Overly soft beds do not give the support needed and foam that is too hard can create pressure points on hips and shoulders.
OrthoVet™ foam is an egg crate designed to help distribute weight evenly. The open cell foam also helps regulate a more even skin temperature. The 4-inch depth has an ideal 30-35 ILD (Indent Load Deflection). We like to call this the "Just Right Goldilocks" cushion that's not too soft and not too hard - it's just right!
